Final Post
Well we made it home this afternoon after 16 days, 7,310 miles, 54 hours of flying,9 hotels and three boat rides. The last leg was a pretty easy run from Santa Fe, NM to David Wayne Hooks Airport in 4:06 and the all the snacks left in the plane.
All three of the Bonanzas traveling in the group left fairly close this morning and we all picked up flight following (all of the other flights we made as a group or "flight" as ATC calls you}, so now with us all in close trail and headed to the same airport at the same altitude, every controller had to ask if we were headed to a Bonanza party or some such thing. It was pretty comical.
But all in the trip was an outstanding adventure. And the man was right, it was not a vacation. We saw some incredible sights and had a great experience, but it was not for the faint hearted. I didn't fly that hard or that much when I was training to be a pilot, so I should be in good shape for football season.
Of course we were happy to see the girls and Skipper was probably the happiest. It will be good to sleep in our own bed and get our stuff put away for a while. I have to thank Bill Whitefield for putting the trip together and Mr. Let's Fly Alaska, Dale Hemman for making it all possible.
And to everyone who kept our kids, fed our dog or the fish or was otherwise put upon on our behalf during the trip. We could not have done it if you had not been there to help out and we really appreciate it.

It was really great when the girls said you would be home, Sunday afternoon.
We all are really glad that you all had a safe and "excellent adventure" in the North country.
